Solid is often asked to help facilitate finding a mentor to support individuals wishing to develop their careers.
Where possible, we try to assist but with increasing demand for this one-to-one support it is not always possible to find a match. As a result, we have summarised some alternative options for prospective mentees to consider which may prove more immediate routes of securing this type of support.
1. The Institute of Fundraising, London Region
A formal group has been established to recruit new mentors and to match mentees. Regular meetings are held for both and the initiative has received a grant to facilitate its work from the City Bridge Trust.
Further details where you can register your interest for the next meeting, can be found here
The scheme is free to charities under £2m and has a cost of £250 for those over £2m.
2. Solid Management Consultants
Our fundraising consultants at Solid are also available to offer mentoring through a formal scheme which involves one-to-one support to help mentees develop their fundraising and leadership expertise.
A 12 month programme would involve 4 face to face meetings for up to 3 hours to enable the exploration of a wide range of issues and facilitate a focused discussion and course of action.
